Board-certified pediatric dentists are held to the highest standards in pediatric dental care, having completed specialized training and a voluntary certification process. For Dr. Andrea Aduna, that certification reflects deep expertise and a commitment to the latest advances, which is a solid foundation for your child's lifelong oral health.
The AAPD recommends an initial oral evaluation by Age 1, or within 6 months of the first tooth. Your child's first visit includes a facility tour, a gentle exam with Dr. Andrea, and time to talk through brushing, flossing, and diet. For children under three, that first appointment is complimentary.
We typically care for patients through age 18, supporting the whole journey from the first tooth into the teen years. For individual needs, we are always glad to discuss continued care on a case by case basis.
Around age 3 is a great time to start, using a kid-specific brush with soft bristles and a small head. Models with timers and gentle action make brushing more effective and more fun, with a parent supervising.
Usually in the teen years, around ages 14 to 18. We use x-rays to track their growth and position, and recommend removal only if crowding, impaction, or discomfort is likely. Healthy, well-positioned wisdom teeth may not need to come out at all.
